2023 St. Jude Medal Recipient - Beverly Backey

Congratulations to Beverly Backey for being among those of who received the St. Jude Medal for service to their respective parishes for 2023 in the Diocese of St. Petersburg.  The evening prayer service and awards conferral was held on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle at 3:00 pm. The ceremony was open to the public.

 

This award originated back in 1999 with Bishop Robert Lynch, and it takes place every year on or near the Solemnity of Christ the King.  Bishop Gregory Parkes has continued this tradition of recognizing the laity of the Diocese and bestows upon them a special medal to thank them for their dedication, hard work and the gift they are to their local church.

 

The 2022 medal recipient was Dale Brown.
